SK8MAFIA SKATEBOARDS STRAIGHT FROM CALIFORNIA

Sk8mafia was born in California and is one of those brands that started out almost as a joke and out of curiosity. In the early 2000s, two Californian college students who were skaters found themselves with a project that would change their lives.

The Skatemafia project began as a school project for skaters Josh Priebe and Dan Connelly. Two ordinary guys who combined their passion for skateboarding with their studies. After passing their exams with flying colors, the two friends began producing small quantities of products locally and finding skaters for the team that was starting to take shape.

Sk8mafia began to take shape thanks to the commitment of the two young friends who, after graduating, threw themselves into this project.

First of all, it should be noted that the Skatemafia logo is very original. Few people with an extreme sense of design would be able to come up with a similar logo. Thus, the logo was born, with two hands forming the S of Skate and the M of Mafia with their fingers.

In addition to having an iconic logo from day one, the brand enjoyed unexpected success throughout America. This success prompted the two skater friends to keep going and create a world-class brand.
Sk8mafia began to become increasingly popular. The brand is distributed by Blitz Distribution, which created brands such as Momentum, JSLV clothing, Black Label, Hooks up, and Fury trucks. These were very popular brands in the early 2000s.

From the very beginning, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and boards with the legendary logo flew off the shelves across America, and in no time, Sk8mafia arrived in Europe, where it was also a huge success.

THE FIRST SK8MAFIA VIDEO “WAY OF LIFE”

In 2004, the first Sk8mafia video called “Way of Life” was released, featuring a truly hyped team with names such as Peter Smolik, Tyler Surrey, Kellen James, Tommy Cantrell, and of course the boss Dan Connelly.

The hip hop music in this video is a must, going hand in hand with the Skatemafia brand. The level of tricks in the video is very high, with rails, ledges, and walls of all kinds. The team began to realize that the two friends' project was truly a winning card.

Sk8mafia produced weekly videos featuring clips of the team skating non-stop. In 2009, the team was in great shape and at the height of its power with skaters such as Wes Kremer, Nick Tucker, Jamie Palmore, Marshall Heat, and all the others from previous years.

All these top pro skaters performed incredible tricks in all the videos released by Sk8mafia in the following years. In addition, since the launch of the Skatemafia brand, videos entitled “Saturday Videos” have been produced, showing the progress of the team. Technical tricks and scenes from street life are a must for a brand called Skatemafia.

More videos followed, and in 2013, “Sweetmafia” was released, a collaboration video with European pros from the Swedish brand Sweet Skateboards.
The video features pros such as Daniel Spang, Josef Scott Jatta, Gustav Tonnessen, Koffee Hallgren, and Anthony Myhrvold.

WES KREMER SKATER OF THE YEAR

2014 was the year of Wes Kremer, who was at the peak of his career. He received the Thrasher “Skater of the Year 2014” award. Kremer's skateboarding is extremely technical and powerful. Tricks off handrails and ledges are a must for this Sk8mafia pro skater.

The Thrasher video will be released, crowning Kremer the king of 2014. This well-deserved award has further helped the Sk8mafia brand, which continues to be successful.
