THRASHER MAGAZINE THE LEADING SKATEBOARDING MAGAZINE

Thrasher Magazine is a historic skateboarding magazine that was founded in January 1981 in San Francisco, America. The two founders of the most famous skateboarding magazine in the world are Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson. From the beginning, the magazine published skateboarding content, music, photos, interviews with professional skateboarders and lots of material about the world of skateboarding.

After its birth, the magazine quickly expanded worldwide and became a cult for riders all over the world. The Acolorful 80s were a launch pad for the magazine to reach the whole world. Skateboarding was of great interest and on the rise in the USA and around the world in the 80s.

The first issues of the magazine immortalized the most famous pro skaters of the time in epic shots and exclusive interviews. The founders of skate thrasher magazine were also the two creators of the legendary Independent Skate Truck brand.

From the very beginning, the magazine was founded to promote the newly created skate truck brand. After a short time, it took a different turn and was read by the entire skate community and officially became the number one skateboard magazine in the world.

JAKE PHELPS THE LEGEND OF THRASHER MAGAZINE

The first editor was Kevin Thatcher. Later, Jake Phelp was brought into the Thrasher team as the official editor. Since then, everything has changed in the editorial team. Jake immediately brought a punk and real spirit of what hardcore skateboarding should be.

It's immediately noticeable in the texts of the magazine's articles that it doesn't mince its words. For this reason, the magazine has been respected worldwide for over 30 years. Over the last few decades, Thrasher has repeatedly produced formats that have given the skate world a lot of hype.

Events like "The King of the Road" are still a talking point today. Even if you don't know the 'Hall of Meat', we recommend you check it out.

Thrashers and 'gnarly as f@+k! There's a hardcore and punk component to skateboarding in everything these guys do. We're not talking about skateboarding for sissies here, but real "skate and destroy" spirit.

Skate and destroy" is the motto that Thrasher and Jake Phelp espoused many years ago. The magazine's cult is killer spots and skaters doing tricks on the edge. The true essence of skateboarding, as it should be, finds its perfect harmony in the American magazine.

Today, Thrasher Magazine is the oldest skate magazine in the world, not even the giant Transworld Skateboarding had such success. The success was certainly also possible thanks to the thrasher flame logo, which has gone viral over the last 20 years.

THRASHER MAGAZINE SWEATSHIRTS AND T-SHIRTS

The magazine's sweatshirts and t-shirts are not only worn by skaters, but by all kinds of fans all over the world. Even many music stars, actors and celebrities have been photographed wearing a thrasher T-shirt.

Since then, thrasher apparel has developed from a hardcore skate magazine into a globally sought-after brand. Everyone wants to have the thrasher logo, and for many hardcore skaters this fashion doesn't even seem to go down anymore.

For skaters, anyone wearing a thrasher t-shirt is not a skateboarder and is considered a show-off, but that's another story. We say it doesn't matter if you skate or not, wear what you want and when you want.

Everywhere you go you see people wearing a t-shirt with the mythical flame or skate goat logo. The skate magazine has become a real cult brand.

The skateboarding world owes so much to the magazine that it has radically changed the skateboarding subculture. In the late 1990s, the magazine sponsored a video game for the Sony Playstation called "Skate and Destroy".

Since 1990, the magazine has crowned the best skateboarder in the world with the title "Skater of the Year". Every year, the whole world looks forward to this ceremony, which is the Nobel Prize of skateboarding worldwide.

STYLE ICON SKATEBOARDING CLOTHING

In recent years, the 'king of the road' contest has brought the magazine ever closer to the top. The 'king of the roard' contest is by invitation only.

Many professionals who are invited to the contest have to face various challenges. For two weeks, the skaters travel across America and collect points that earn them the title of 'king of the street'.

Jake Phelp has always been the driving force behind these events. Phelp always brought his punk and hardcore spirit to make the hype of the event unique and original.

Jake Phelp (rip) has left us and left a big gap in the big family of worldwide skateboarding.

Thrasher is still with us and the magazine has no intention of letting us go. Skate and destroy forever.
