This behemoth of a brand was born from the passion for snowboarding of the two founders Jason Brown and Blue Montgomery who in the year 2000 in Seattle created and gave birth to the Capita Snowboards brand.

This factory was the legendary Elan brand factory.

Snowboarding in 2009 - 2010 received a very heavy beating from the global banking crisis that led to a drastic drop in sales worldwide.
During those years of crisis, the market was in extreme difficulty.

The Elan factory that had always been the top for global production saw orders being taken away from the big brands that began to move to countries where production and labor cost less.

Before long, the Elan factory closed as it no longer had the funds to compete with other companies that had lower costs on both materials and personnel. In 2012-2013 the Small Elan factory closed its doors and declared bankruptcy.

At that time, the owners of Capita snowboarding turned their entrepreneurial project around. They found the necessary funds and decided that in order to stand out from the rest they should invest in DIY production.

THE CRISIS AND THE REBIRTH OF THE BRAND

Capita is his bosses decide to buy the Elan Factory and settle in Austria where they find themselves holding a factory that still has an old-fashioned footprint.

The American brand's bosses decide that that factory needs to be modernized and rebuilt. It is here that a team of industry experts creates, designs and plans “the mothership.”

The “mothership” is a project never before realized in the world of snowboarding. In 2014, work began on the construction of a snowboard factory with the best possible technologies inside it. Inside “the mothership” the best snowboard boards in the world are to be made.
