PRIMITIVE SKATEBOARDING AND PAUL RODRIGUEZ THE BIRTH OF A BIG BRAND

Primitive Skateboards Paul Rodriguez is the first thing that comes to mind. The American brand was founded in 2014 by the pro skater.

From the very beginning Paul Rodriguez has been one of the most talented skateboarders on the planet.

His style and baggage of tricks was absolutely on another level. Paul Rodriguez was one of the pioneers to skate in switchstance even rails and ledges with incredible fluency.

Paul Rodriguez was born in Tarzana, California, with an actor father and a close-knit family Paul was from an early age a promise of skateboarding. His nickname “P-Rod” was given to him as early as when he was a teenager going to school at age 11.

PAUL RODRIGUEZ AND THE BEGINNING OF HIS CAREER

Later Paul Rodriguez received on his 12th birthday his first skateboard as a gift from his relatives. From then on his life changed and would never be the same.

Immediately Paul headed to the spots where he could make friends with local skaters and learn his first tricks.

Right away in the local spots the other skaters realize that Paul’s level is something talented and natural. To understand the history of Primitive Skateboards one must know that of Paul Rodriguez.

It takes very little for little Paul Rodriguez to get noticed by big sponsors. Paul Rodriguez’s career starts very early and right away the skater begins to become famous for his hallucinating street tricks.

At the age of 14 Paul joins the local skateshop team called “One Eighteen” of Andy Netkin who was 19 years old at the time. Right away Netkin believes that the little 14-year-old skaters will become a world skateboarding star.

FROM “DNA SKATEBOARDS” TO CITY STAR

Paul Rodriguez’s first sponsor came in 1999 and it was “Dna skateboards” where Paul appeared in his first official part of a skateboards brand. The video was called “Microanalisis.”

At 16 Paul joins the super team of the new upcoming brand “City Star” founded by skateboarding legend Kareem Campbell.

As an amateur on the team Paul releases a video part that concludes the skate movie “Street Cinema.” Having the last part of a video was reserved for the strongest skaters.

Paul was already destined to become a big and shortly thereafter the brand headed by Kareem Campbell would make pro skater Paul Rodriguez.

The “City Star” team was very large with skaters such as Mikey Taylor, Justin Case, Devine Calloway, and Kevin Spark Long. In those years Paul’s growth was incredibly fast and his level was increasing every day.

When the brand decided to release the first pro Rodriguez model, the skater decided to leave “City Star.” With regret but, respectfully the story ends. It is not yet time for the birth of Primitive skateboards. New adventures lie ahead for Paul.

Paul Rodriguez moves on to Team Girl explaining that Mike Carroll was one of his favorite skateboarders. Mike asked him to join the team. All of Paul’s dreams became reality and in 2002 Rodriguez’s first pro model was released.

Paul spends years with the Girl team and more and more his name travels around the world attracting the new generation who see in Paul Rodriguez one of the strongest street skaters on the planet.

The presence in Girl lasts a few years and later Paul moves on to the Plan B. team which is in the moment of its historical revival and Danny Way and ColinMckay strongly want the presence of the skater from Tarzana.

In those years Rodriguez’s pro boards come out with iconic graphics that are still remembered as legendary.

Paul Rodriguez continues to win many competitions. His popularity becomes global thanks to the street league that takes him to the roof of the world. Paul Rodriguez is sponsored by Nike Sb and reaches the pinnacle of his career as a street skater.

PRIMITIVE SKATE IS BORN

The Primitive skateboards project was born years earlier with a store that directed by his childhood friends. The store run by Andy Netkin has been producing clothing and skate supplies since 2008 selling them in a store that precisely had the name “Primitive store.” But, it was in 2014 that its co founder decided to call Paul and launch the brand globally.

In 2014 “Primitive Skateboards” was officially born with Paul Rodriguez as the president of the company and Netkin as the founder. From that moment, the brand becomes very famous within a very short time. The official Primitive team is joined by excellent names in world skateboarding such as Nick tucker and Carlos Rebeiro.

Today the Primitive skateboards team consists of Paul Rodriguez, tiago lemos, Miles Silvas, Carlos Rebeiro, Wade Desarmo, Spencer Hamilton, Franky Villani, Rober Neal, Trent Mcclung, Jb Jillet, Giovanni Vianna, Brian Peacock, and Marek Zaprazny.
