THE FOUNDING OF THE BRAND IN THE 90’S WITH DAMON WAY

The compaby was founded in June 1994 by Damon Way and Ken Block. Damon Way is the brother of pro skateboarder Danny Way.

The two brothers have been skateboarding together since the early 1980s.

Damon’s career was always filled with accidents and his dream of becoming a pro skater proved to be increasingly difficult. One slam in particular interrupted his career and led him to move into other areas. Together with his friend and snowboarder Ken Block in 1991 they founded the distribution company “ The Eightball and Circus Distribution.”

From this distribution the first products and brands begin to come out, which under the names “Droors Clothing” and “Blunt Magazine” begin to dress American riders in both skate and snowboarding.

Droors becomes a superfresh and viral brand within a few years. Shortly thereafter, the Droors brand will be replaced by “DC,” which begins to come to life in 1994.

THE GLOBAL SUCCESS OF THE CALIFORNIA BRAND

The brand immediately after its inception has an incredible sellout and founder Damon Way led the small, fledgling brand to become an empire in just ten years by driving sales over 100 million.

In 2004 the company Dc shoes is bought by Quiksilver for the astronomical sum of $87 million. The whole team moves to a new Headquarters in another location in California where they begin to design the whole business until today, now stable and solid in the market, the brand sells all over the world.

He is active in all action sports but, in skateboarding he always finds his solid roots. In 2010 the video titled “Skateboarding is Forever ” was released with all the athletes of the team that in those years was really strong thanks to skaters like Matt Miller, Evan Smith, Wes Kremer and many others.
