PLANB B SKATEBOARDS FROM THE 90S TO TODAY.

Plan is the brand that all skaters in the world know. Both today and thirty years ago. Plan bbe one of the sacred monsters of the brand that has totally revolutionized the modern skate.
To understand well the departure of planb skateboards we must start from its founder Mike Ternasky who, coming out of the collaboration with Tony Magnusson's H-Street, thinks of an innovative and modern brand concept with a fresh and powerful image.

This is how Mike Ternasky puts together a really strong team. Many skaters come from the h Street team who followed Ternasky in the new project.
The new superbrand project was supported and formed as part of Dwindle distribution then headed by Steve Rocco and Rodney Mullen.
And this is how the legend of skateboarding was born. Plan b skateboard is born. The original starting team consisted of Danny Way, Colin Mc Kay, Rodney Mullen, Mike Carrol, Matt Hensley, Rick Howard, Sean Sheffey and Sal Barbier.

Mike Ternasky just put the team together and immediately put his groundbreaking marketing ideas into action. His ideas made the newborn Plan b brand depopulate all over the world. Ternasky came from Powell Peralta, the brand that for decades has dominated the scene and conquered the masses.
But something was getting out of date and the same people who ran the skateboarding business in America in the 70s and 80s no longer had the skills to evolve skateboarding as it should.

PLAN BE MIKE TERNASKY A REVOLUTION IN SKATEBOARDING

More and more people were skateboarding in America and around the world and there was a need for a revolution in street skate. Mike Ternasky put together one of the strongest street teams in the world. The first mega handrails, the first gaps in switches and a lot of other maneuvers that changed the history of skateboarding in those years were cleared.
Mike Ternasky's vision was to create the dream team that would become the NBA of skateboarding. So it was in the future. Mike, a great friend of Rodney Mullen, convinced him to change his way of skating.

Mullen was a freestyle start in the 1980s, but mullen's discipline and popularity took a huge dip. Pro skater Rodney Mullen was convinced by Mike Ternasky to put his skills into freestile and convert them to street skate. The result was an incredible Mullen who gave birth to incredible tricks that still make everyone whiten today. Everyone believed that Mullen would transfer his maneuvers even on a transition.
Mike has been a mainstay for all the guys on the team. Mike was like a father who gave energy and positivity to his children. The team was completely galvanized and united by the work Mike Ternasky put into the Plan B project.

And this is how skateboarding evolves in 1992 and it is the year 1992. It is the year in which the video of the team plan b "questionable" is published.

CHANGE THE WORLD OF SKATEBOARDING IN 1992 "QUESTIONABLE" IS RELEASED

"Questionable" the first video plan b went around the world immediately after its release and reached the minds of all those young people who, starting to skate in the early 90s, found themselves facing an epochal change in skateboarding.
The video was a concentration of super street tricks that had never been seen before. From late shoves to pressure flips to all tricks in switchstance. In short, street skateing was changing.
Danny Way made monstrous gaps and huge stairways in bs 360. Pat Duffy used all kinds of handrails that were unthinkable at the time.

All these maneuvers were also carried out thanks to the change of the concave and shape of the boards which in those years during the 90 and 93 was radical. Surely a change of materials allowed the raiders of the time to make a qualitative leap in the tricks performed.
The concept of "plaza" was very present with the crew of the embarcadero depopulating. Similar situations arose in all cities. Skaters dyed their hair and wore adidas and pumas to skate. Big pants were a must to use as well as xxl t shirts.
All a bit like it is happening in today's times. Skateboarding was changing, indeed it had already changed.

After "questionable" the plan b saga continues with two videos that come out practically in the same year 1993. The videos are "smoke second hand smoke" and Ternasky's latest masterpiece "Virtual Reality". In those years other riders were added to the team plan b. Riders like Tony Fergusson, Aaroon Artis, Jeremy Wray, Ronnie Bertino and Pat Channita. Stories of skaters who for years have merged and created the legend plan b.

THE PREMATURE DISAPPEARANCE OF MIKE TERNASKY (RIP).

In 1994 Mike Ternasky was killed in a car accident and the management of Plan b skateboard had drastic consequences. Mike's disappearance has a devastating effect on the whole team and family.
The brand can no longer be as it was before because Mike's influence was too important and irreplaceable. There were two years of stop and reflection on what happened. The whole team took a break because the loss of their friend Mike Ternasky was a tremendous shock.

In 1997 a new direct video from Mike's jerseys was released. Mary Ternasky directs the video "the revolution" in honor of her missing husband. The video is a mix of new and old riders. As usual, the level of skateboarding is very high. Tricks out of the ordinary can be seen on both street and vert.
In the early 2000s, the decision was made by Dnny Way and Colin McKay to take the lead of the brand to make it shine again.

Towards 2005 the brand, also with the collaboration of Paul Rodriguez, resumes its path and intends to bring back the same enthusiasm and guideline that they had in the past. Plan b had to make a big comeback and so had the second start of the brand more or less ten years later.

PLAN B SKATEBOARD TODAY AND THE COMPLETE REBIRTH

Danny way and Colin Mc kay in a few years of work have managed to put together those dreams that Mike Ternasky had for his brand plan b.
From 2010 onwards the plan b team started getting stronger with riders like Felipe Gustavo, Ryan Sheckler and Torey Pudwill. In addition, the legend Chris Joslin who has become a symbol of the brand with his powerful, technical and fast skating.
In particular, the legend of Ryan Scheckler becomes huge. The American skaters with his tricks conquer everyone and from there shortly for plan b skateboards it will be just one success after another.

Today the team is very strong with the addition of the French skater Aurelien Giraud who today is among the strongest skaters on the planet.
Thirty years later Mike Ternasky's dream becomes reality thanks to the dedication of the two pro skaters friends Way and Mc Kay. Today plan b skateboards is produced in europe in one of the new generation companies that build skateboards.
