The Ripndip brand first appeared in skateparks across Ohio, USA. Back in 2006, a group of skaters began writing “Ripndip” everywhere: on decks, T-shirts, tags and graffiti. It quickly became a well-known local slogan. Ripndip has always promoted self-confidence, independence and freedom from the system—much like its symbol, the cat: an independent, aloof and self-sufficient animal. After years of experimenting with names and sketches, Ryan created the legendary “Nermal” cat, which became the symbol and inspiration behind the American brand’s collections. In 2009, Ryan Connor officially founded Ripndip Skateboard Company and began producing skateboard decks and apparel.
